As I used some tooth pics the other day to fill the holes that had gotten too big for the screws on my paper towel holder, I was reminded that my dad taught me how to do this. It gave me pause, and as Father’s day approaches, I wanted to share some other things he has taught me with you.
Always keep 2 hands on the wheel.
Sometimes you’ve just got to endure the pain – Novocaine is for sissies.
Never trust a man who doesn’t drink.
Take any port in a storm.
Life, like baseball, may at times seem it, but it is never boring.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Eat your greens.
Cold beer is best, but warm beer is better than no beer at all.
Whenever you can, walk.
Be nice to your mother.
Talk to dogs.
Be kind to strangers unless they are brandishing a weapon.
Daddy’s favorite quote is “When the one great scorer comes to mark against your name, he marks not that you won or lost, but how you played the game.”
Thanks for teaching me that playing is more important than winning daddy.
Happy Father’s Day. I love you.XO
